On April 28, 2025, in Doha, with the joint organization of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the State of Qatar and Hamad bin Khalifa University, an international scientific conference “Principles of Peace and Trust in the Works of Magtymguly Fragi” was held, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
The conference was attended by the Rector of the Magtymguly Turkmen State University O.Ovezsahedov, the Director of the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan D.Orazsahedov, who are on a working visit to the State of Qatar, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar M.Seyitmammedov, as well as the heads and representatives of the university.
The speakers noted that the book by the President of Turkmenistan, “Magtymguly – the Sage of the World,” comprehensively reveals the poet’s role in the history of the Turkmen people, his work and contribution to world literature.
It was noted that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, which became a clear expression of recognition of the country’s foreign policy aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.
During the working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Qatar, bilateral meetings were also held with the heads of the Qatar Cultural Center, Hamad bin Khalifa University, and the Qatar National Library. During the meetings, the possibilities of cooperation in the field of science and education, as well as joint study of ancient manuscripts were discussed.
