On May 5-7, 2025, the Tenth meeting of the High-Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea (HLWG) was held in Moscow.
The meeting was attended by the delegations from Turkmenistan (head of the delegation - M.G. Atajanov), the Republic of Azerbaijan (head of the delegation - S.A. Sharifov), the Islamic Republic of Iran (head of the delegation - A. Jahangiri), the Republic of Kazakhstan (head of the delegation - Z.A. Amanzholova) and the Russian Federation (head of the delegation - M.I. Petrakov). The meeting was chaired by the head of the Russian delegation M.I. Petrakov.
During the meeting, methods for establishing direct baselines in the Caspian Sea were discussed. During the meeting, the parties reviewed cooperation in the Caspian Sea and considered issues related to the preparation of the next meeting of Foreign Ministers.
The delegations’ representatives positively assessed the results of the negotiations and expressed gratitude to the Russian Federation for the high organizational level. The next meeting of the HLWG will be held in Turkmenistan at the time agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
