The delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the III Ministerial Conference of the Almaty Process, which took place in Baku in the third decade of April.
The event was attended by official delegations of the states participating in the Almaty Process – Azerbaijan, Turkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of the observer states – Iran, Italy and Pakistan, as well as representatives of the Organization of Turkic States and international experts from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
The conference discussed in detail issues of developing cooperation between countries, exchanging best practices in managing migration issues, and exchanging information.
Conference participants also agreed to further expand cooperation in the area of migration and refugee protection in the region, and stressed the need to improve training and information exchange at the national and regional levels.
At the final part of the conference, the “Baku Declaration” was adopted following the two-year chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the “Almaty Process”.
